Our second year doing the annual Richard Rawle Memorial Scholarship was a huge success! This year, Check City is excited to announce our newest scholarship winner.
Each year Check City funds the Richard Rawle Memorial Scholarship, a scholarship essay contest that honors the Check City founder, Richard Rawle, and the Check City mission to be compassionate members of the community. This scholarship is awarded each year to a college student who displays a passion and drive to give back to their community.
In 2021, Check City began the Richard Rawle Memorial Scholarship to help provide financing to students who show an exceptional drive to give back to their communities.
This scholarship is two thousand dollars awarded to one student each year. Students apply to win this scholarship by submitting an essay that outlines how they have given back to their communities and the impactful things they learned as they served and helped others.
The Richard Rawle Memorial Scholarship is named after the founder of Check City. The Rawle family, along with Check City, believe that education is essential for making communities thrive. With these scholarship funds, students can finance their education and go on to support and elevate their communities.
This year we had an applicant that stood out not only for what he has given back, but for his continued passion to serve those around him. This winner represents the mission of Check City, and we are pleased to award the 2022 Richard Rawle Memorial Scholarship to Ashis Dhakal.
Ashis Dhakal founded the nonprofit organization, Namaskar United Foundation, to collect clothes and coats for people without housing in Utah and the country he is from, Nepal.
Ashis Dhakal started a nonprofit foundation called Namaskar United, and it is his mission to use this nonprofit organization to help others in many ways. Namaskar United has collected all kinds of donations, from clothing to hygiene products, to help people without housing, cancer patients, children with birth defects, and people struggling in developing countries. They have already raised over $5,000 and gathered hundreds of other donations.
Check City is a community and family-based company. We strive to give back to our communities in any way we can. With this scholarship, Check City hopes to award community-minded students so they can get the education they need to continue doing great things in their community.
